It is sunny down here south. While rains were ravaging the imperial
metropolis yesterday, the sun was giving away free sunshine yesterday.
Farther south, though, bullets were raining on the island of Jolo. The
deadly weather has cursed the bodies of more than twenty soldiers, who
await their somber return to their respective families. Victims of the
tragedy that still hounds the blessed island of Mindanao, my knee-jerk
reaction was to firebomb the island of Jolo. Of course, it is no solution.
And I will not try to offer a solution. Suffice it to say that whatever
cancer is there in Mindanao, much sacrifice will have to be done by both
parties (not necessarily blood sacrifice) to ensure peace.
